Design Mag posted a great list of free fonts on thier blog and I decided to plug’em.

If you aren’t a Web or Print Designer by trade, you might be wondering why you need more fonts than the ones that show up now when you open Microsoft Word. Well, I’ll give you 3 good reasons:

1. Originality- Often if you are posting something or creating an online flyer for your event, the right font can go a long way in helping to convey your message.

2. Branding- If you are still struggling with making a face for your brand, a distincitve font is a useful tool in creating the right brand for your product or organization. And don’t be fooled, even churches and nonprofits benefit from good branding.

3. Standing Out- If you are creating an item, page, site that is in competition with a multitude of others (and who isn’t) you want yours to stand out in the minds of the most people. Among other factors, a great font (that’s not helvetica) will help you with that.
